CD – Revival, 1998 International Champions
CD – Joyfully, I’ll Travel On
Revival
Revival, primarily from the San Diego area, is only the second quartet in BHS history to make the largest leap (9th to 1st) in one year to win the gold medal. Royce, Mike, Mike and Bill were already great friends as their love and passion for barbershop harmony and gospel music inspired their formation and name Revival. Their thrilling, resonant sound, vocal personality and musicality endeared themselves to crowds both inside and outside of barbershop and around the world.
Founded in the summer of 1995, it didn’t take long before they began making their mark at barbershop quartet competitions. Earning the title of 1997 Far Western District Champions, they went on to realize their ultimate dreams on the 4th of July, 1998, in Atlanta, Georgia, when they were crowned 1998 International Quartet Champions!
Revival has performed for over 400,000 people in 38 states and 5 countries, had their voices and faces displayed on ABC, NBC, CBS CNN and BBC television and radio stations; shared the stage the world-renowned “Swingle Singers” in London, England; sang with Dick Van Dyke and the San Diego Symphony; made two CD’s each which was Nominated for 2 CARA Awards (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award); one of the first quartets to perform “LIVE” on the Internet; performed in Ireland, England, Canada, Germany, performed and taught harmony courses in St. Petersburg, Russia and were featured in the PBS Special, “Can’t Stop Singing” which was broadcast to over 75 affiliates nationally.
