Gary Steinkamp

Gary is short. He joined barbershopping when he was very small (not much has changed). His first quartet was with his brother and 2 sisters, called "The Nighty Knights", a miniature version of the Desert Knights quartet. Other quartets were Mother's Boys (1969-1970), Sunlanders (1970-1972), The Thomas Eagleton Memorial 4 (1972-1973), Sound Committee (1973-1978), and Music Appreciation 101 (1978- ). Gary directed the Phabulous Phoenicians Chorus from 1989 until 1999, and is an Associate Director of the Tokyo Barbers, a barbershop chorus in Tokyo. He has served on the Harmony College Faculty for 17 years as a quartet coach, and is a Presentation Category Candidate Judge.

Gary owns a little computer business in Scottsdale. His 2 runty children, Bradley & Matthew are already singing in another quartet with dad and grandpa called, "Grandpa's Quartet".
